NetSuite announced in early March 2021 the End of Life (EOD) of email marketing software Bronto for May 2022. All clients currently working with Bronto will have a year or so to migrate onto other platforms.
Nearly six years ago, Oracle NetSuite acquired Durham-based Bronto Software for approximately $200 million. Last month, they emailed customers the news they assigned the core product suite, Bronto Marketing Platform, to “end of life” status. The last date of service will be May 31, 2022.
The good news is that Bronto customers have a little over a year to select and migrate to a new email marketing solution. A few strong contenders are fighting to win over Bronto’s market share. The strongest? Klaviyo.

End of Life. What does it mean?
Here is a definition from End of Life software. “End-of-life” or EOL is a term used by software vendors indicating they will end or limit their support on the product and version to shift focus on their newer products or version.
Most vendors define a product lifecycle which consists of several phases during which a product moves, where ‘end-of-life’ usually means the last stage (depending on the software vendor). These phases will determine the type of support its customers will receive.
In the specific case of product sales, a vendor may use the more precise term “end-of-sale” (EOS). After the last release date, the timeframe depends on the type of product and relates to the expected product lifetime from a customer’s point of view.
